Consumers have become more demanding of travel suppliers and expect niche rather than mass audience information. Google will be competing with search aggregators like kayak.com and skyscanner.com but will help promote sites that go direct. Holiday Nova goes direct.

Google has categorically stated it is not getting into the business of selling travel (doing so would jeopardise its advertising revenue) but is aiming to dramatically improve the search experience, which it believes is far from ideal.

This new service coming from google will change the main players in travel. This will benefit customers because they will always get the best price online! Watch out greedy travel sites :)

  1. If your travel site allows locations to promote their rooms and activities directly at the cheapest prices then this new google travel will only help peoples promotions be found. Google will be helping not only customers but sites that specialise in direct cheapest varied destinations. This is excellent news. Google will not liaise to setup deals with people then take bookings directly. Google is an are an advertising company. If they actually did that then all travel agents online and offline would be out of business. Indications are they wont do that and that would never get past the U.S. competition authorities. Improving search would be a benefit to Holiday Nova type sites.
