An old partner involved in setting up expanding the sales team model from just one position to three levels has asked for a contract with his business. He is reviewing the sales regional director contracts and will get back to me with the changes he would like made. I will pass this only my lawyer. The contracts for sales teams were designed for individuals and not companies. The contracts with incoming (product owners) and outgoing (travel agents) are compatible with business owners.
One lesson I have learnt, sales team individuals is an excellent idea only if you can pay them a performance based salary. Right now I don’t have that kind of money so the contracts are based on profit sharing. Profit sharing doesn’t work for individuals! It’s always an option for the individual that can afford to work this way and see the huge benefit on sharing profits for anything they add to the site.
